Mastering Guide

The final polish for your music

What is Mastering?

Mastering is the final step in audio production. It takes your mixed track and prepares it for distribution, ensuring it sounds great on all playback systems - from club speakers to earbuds.

What We Do in Mastering

  • EQ Balance: Fine-tuning the overall frequency balance
  • Dynamic Control: Gentle compression to glue the mix together
  • Loudness Optimization: Achieving competitive levels without distortion
  • Stereo Enhancement: Widening or focusing the stereo image
  • Format Preparation: Creating versions for streaming, CD, vinyl

Streaming Optimization

We prepare your music for Spotify, Apple Music, and other platforms with proper loudness levels (-14 LUFS) and format specifications.

Vinyl Mastering

Vinyl requires special consideration - mono bass, proper spacing, and careful EQ to prevent skipping. Our engineers have extensive vinyl experience.

Before Mastering

To get the best results, please ensure your mix:

  • Has no clipping or distortion on the master bus
  • Has at least -6dB of headroom
  • Is exported as a high-resolution WAV or AIFF (24-bit, 44.1kHz or higher)
  • Has no limiting on the master bus
